Dress Code

APS Policy

Student dress often reflects student behavior. Any outside affiliations, especially dress that suggests gang affiliation or illegal activity, should not be brought onto the school campus. Student dress may not present a health or safety hazard, violate municipal or state law, or present a potential for disruption to the instructional program. Attire or accessories, which advertise, display or promote any drug (including alcohol or tobacco), sexual activity, violence, disrespect and/or bigotry toward any group, are not acceptable. 

 

APS Student Dress Policy 

 

Student ID: Each student will be provided with an ID. To ensure safety, it is the expectation that all students wear their ID on a lanyard and must be visible while on campus.

 

Approved JROTC uniforms are permitted                                                                                                          

Approved school spirit wear for all APS schools and special event day dress is permitted

During the fall and winter seasons, clothes must match weather conditions.

 

SPECIAL NOTE: ADMINISTRATIVE DISCRETION

**Administrators have the discretion to determine what is “appropriate or inappropriate” attire. Also, they reserve the right to have students change into appropriate attire. If a student is out of dress code, they will be sent to the office for a change of clothing. Progressive discipline will be followed for repeat dress code violations.
